Who's eligible

Who can get the Coursera student discount?
Anyone who is new to Coursera Plus, student or not. There's no student check. The offer is limited to one per person and can't be combined with other Coursera offers. If you already have Coursera Plus, it doesn't apply.
How long does Coursera student access last?
The 40% discount covers your first 3 months of Coursera Plus monthly. After that, the plan renews at the regular $59/month until you cancel, and you can cancel anytime in your account settings. The offer has to be claimed by February 12, 2027.
Is the Coursera student discount available worldwide?
In most countries, yes. Outside the US, Coursera charges in local currency with local pricing, shown at checkout, so the dollar prices on this page are US prices. The offer is not available to residents of India.

What's included

Coursera is an online learning platform with courses, Specializations and Professional Certificates from universities and companies. Coursera Plus is its subscription: one price for most of the catalog, with unlimited certificates. Coursera doesn't run a student program, so students pay the same as everyone else. The current offer is 40% off the first 3 months of Coursera Plus monthly, which regularly costs $59/month. If you only need one course and can't afford it, financial aid is the other route.

  • 40% Off 3 Months of Coursera PlusNew subscribers get 40% off the monthly plan for their first 3 months. The regular price is $59/month, and the discount is applied at checkout.
  • Most of the Catalog IncludedCoursera Plus covers more than 10,000 courses, Projects, Specializations and Professional Certificate programs. Some programs are excluded, and degrees and MasterTrack Certificates are not part of Plus. Included content carries a Coursera Plus badge.
  • Unlimited CertificatesYou earn a certificate for every course, Project, Specialization or Professional Certificate you complete. There's no cap on how many.
  • No Student Check, No Promo CodeThere's nothing to verify and no code to enter. Open the offer page, log in or sign up, and the discount is applied at checkout.
  • Financial Aid for Single CoursesMany courses offer financial aid. If you're approved, you get a discount off that course and can earn its certificate. The amount depends on your application and your region.

Fine print & gotchas

  • New subscribers only. One per person, and it can't be combined with other Coursera offers.
  • Renews at $59/month. After the 3 discounted months, the plan renews at the regular price until you cancel.
  • Two prices on the offer page. The banner says $35.40/month, the offer terms say $44.25. Checkout shows what you pay.
  • No free trial with the discount. Coursera says discounted plans typically don't include the 7-day free trial.
  • Ends February 12, 2027. Not available to residents of India. Coursera can change or cancel the offer earlier.

Common questions

Is there a Coursera student discount?
No. Coursera says it does not have a dedicated student discount program. Students can use the same offers as everyone else, currently 40% off the first 3 months of Coursera Plus monthly, and can apply for financial aid on single courses.
Is Coursera free?
Partly. Many courses let you preview the first module for free, and many Specializations and Professional Certificates come with a 7-day free trial. To earn a certificate you pay, through Coursera Plus or the course itself, unless you get financial aid.
How does Coursera financial aid work?
On the course page, look for "Financial aid available" and click Learn more. The application asks about your education, career goals and finances, with at least 150 words, and the review takes up to 16 days. If you're approved, you get a discount off that course and 180 days to finish it. Aid is per course, so for a Specialization you apply course by course. Starting a free trial while your application is under review cancels the application.
How much does Coursera Plus cost?
In the US, Coursera Plus costs $59/month or $399/year. The current offers take 40% off the first 3 months of the monthly plan, or bring the first year of the annual plan down to $319.20 until December 2, 2026. Outside the US, Coursera uses local currency and pricing at checkout.
Why does the offer page show two prices?
The banner on Coursera's offer page says $35.40/month for 3 months, regularly $59. The offer terms further down the same page say $44.25 for 3 months. Coursera hasn't said which figure is right. Checkout shows the price you pay before you confirm.
Do I need a promo code?
No. There's no Coursera promo code or coupon for this offer. Open the offer page, log in, and the discount is applied at checkout. Only one Coursera offer can be used per subscription.
