checked Jul 23

DigitalOcean left the GitHub Student Developer Pack. The last day to redeem the $200 credit was July 31, 2026, and every credit, including ones granted earlier, expired on August 1, 2026. There is no DigitalOcean student offer anymore. Here are the cloud credits to use instead.

How to claim it

  1. Check your DigitalOcean billing. If you redeemed the credit before the end, your unused balance was removed on August 1, 2026 and anything still running bills at standard rates. Delete resources you no longer need.
  2. Keep your GitHub Pack verification. Your GitHub Student Developer Pack status still unlocks every other partner offer, including the replacement cloud credits.
  3. Claim a live cloud credit instead. The pack currently lists Microsoft Azure for Students with a $100 credit, and Google Cloud runs a separate student credit program.
  4. Browse what else is live. See all current offers in building apps & websites deals.

Who's eligible

Who can get the DigitalOcean $200 Student Credit - Ended August 2026 student discount?
Nobody can claim it anymore. The $200 credit could be redeemed through the GitHub Student Developer Pack until July 31, 2026, and DigitalOcean retired the offer completely on August 1, 2026. DigitalOcean accounts themselves stay open at standard pay-as-you-go pricing.
How long does DigitalOcean $200 Student Credit - Ended August 2026 student access last?
The offer ended on August 1, 2026 for everyone. The expiry was retroactive: even credits granted to students who redeemed earlier in 2026 were removed on that date, instead of running the old 12 months.
Is the DigitalOcean $200 Student Credit - Ended August 2026 student discount available worldwide?
The credit was available worldwide to students verified through GitHub Education, and it was withdrawn globally on the same August 1, 2026 date. No country kept the offer.

What's included

This offer has ended. DigitalOcean left the GitHub Student Developer Pack and retired its $200 student credit on August 1, 2026. July 31, 2026 was the last day to redeem, and the expiry was retroactive: every credit, including ones already sitting in accounts from earlier redemptions, was removed on August 1. The offer had already been narrowed before the end. Since June 8, 2026 the credit no longer covered GPU Droplets, H100 Kubernetes, Bare Metal GPUs, DigitalOcean Inference, third-party AI models, Paperspace, or Cloudways. If you still have a project running on DigitalOcean, it now bills at standard pay-as-you-go rates, so delete or downsize anything you no longer need. For free student cloud credits that are still live, the GitHub pack currently lists Microsoft Azure (a $100 credit for students 18+) plus Camber and LocalStack, and Google Cloud runs its own separate student credit program. We will update this page if DigitalOcean returns with a new student offer.
